We have been using the ChicoPlus products with an SD16 module for many years, and have just identified a problem on Windows XP. It appears that using XP correlates with many issues:
* Loss of recognition of the card. Occasionally it is only identified as a generic "PCI Device" and the drivers do not install. Sometimes it recovers and sometimes it doesn't.
* Discontiguous data collection. The transferred data stream is interrupted several times in the first 650ms of data collection and again after about 6 seconds.
* No data collection. Sometimes no callbacks occur after a call to start surveying. This is usually "fixed" by restarting the computer.
* Occasionally other glitches occur that may or may not be related.
The cards have worked fine for many years on Win2K. Has anyone ever also had reliability problems with the ChicoPlus or SD16 module under Windows XP? If not, we have to start going back through the computer itse

Make sure your driver is iixwdm.sys and has a date of 2/20/03 or a few days from this date. Make sure you run the ReservememDSP.exe and set up the ChicoPlus for at least 2048 BM region and 4096 reserved. We use the ChicoPlus here at Innovative for testing all the Omnibus modules and we have used this in Vista as well with this driver. Vista has not been fully tested yet but we have reports of it working long term.

| Thanks for the reply. It looks like we have eliminated the OS factor, despite the earlier evidence to the contrary. I'll follow up the current specific concern in another thread. |
