Number of channels
Sorry for the confusion on this issue. The design features four D/As, not two. The data sheet is being corrected and will appear on the website shortly.
Phase relationship between channels
From one to four channels may be programmatically enabled for simultaneous operation. All enabled channels which are driven by a common clock will operate in phase. The logic has been designed to preserve the phase relationship between channels in this case.
PMC module use within a system
Carrier cards are available to convert from PCI to PMC or from cPCI to PMC. Typically, these are passive devices which merely accomodate the mechanical difference beytween these card formats.
Here is a cPCI to PMC adapter: http://www.getcatalyst.com/adapter_moreInfo_pmc2c-x.html

In either case, these must plug into an existing PCI or cPCI-based computer running Windows XP. In other words, PMC modules (with or without one of the above adapters) are merely plug-in cards - they are not a complete PC.
Alternately, PMC modules may be installed onto our Quixote (http://www.innovative-dsp.com/products/quixote.htm) or Quadia (http://www.innovative-dsp.com/products/quadia.htm) DSP baseboards, to provide onboard signal processing of the data delivered by the PMC logic, prior to delivery to the PC. This is advantageous in reducing PCI bus congestion, off-loading time consuming processing from the Host CPU and providing much higher real-time processing determinicity.
Logic framework features
We do not presently show DUC (digital up-conversion) in our supplied code. The supplied VHDL illustrates real-time, full-bandwidth waveform generation. But, Xilinx has a very good DUC core available on their website that can be used. _________________ Jim |
