Greetings all,

Please forgive me if this turns out to be a duplicate thread to "Triggered acquisition start w/ ChicoPlus & SD module".

Is the ChicoPlus board capable of receiving an external trigger to initiate data acquisition start and stop conditions? Is this what the "ExternalInterruptEnable" property is for under the IIChicoBaseboard object? Or is the answer to my question the same as that posted in the earlier thread (i.e., independent of any OMNIBUS module used)?

Many thanks.

Dan

The ChicoPlus baseboard does not provide any triggering capability beyond that available on each Omnibus module. The baseboard External Interrupt input was provided to allow the internal sequencer (which performs data transfers between the module and the PCI bus) to run synchronously with a signal provided on the EI connector. However, this capability is unrelated to triggering.

Moreover, all sigma-delta devices, such as those on the SD and SD16 modules employ digital filters which exhibit significant pipeline latency. So, they are ill suited to external triggering.
